Embellishing Mania {grin}

I am still having loads of fun sewing all sorts of things onto backgrounds. It must be the influence of the last few issues of Quilting Arts magazine, which seem to be embellishing a lot these days! It suits me, because of all the million crazy little things that I have hoarded for years, many of which have some personal meaning for me, that I can now use. However, some of those things do not have holes in them, so today I invested in 5 titanium drill bits for this latest passion! They were only about R8 each, and I got small sizes, from 1.2mm to 3.5mm. I'm at work, but can hardly wait to get home to try them out! Some drilling going to be done today!

Even with my battered old drill that has seen distinctly better days! :

What are you drilling into, Karen? I've been doing quite a bit of drilling myself and the next thing I will try are pebbles. Don Madden on http://donmadden.blogspot.com/ posted a tutorial for me. There are some tips about stabilizing whatever it is you are drilling. Up until now I've been putting shells into a big wad of prestik.

Robyn, you are a pillar of strength! Thanks for still reading, through this trying period for me, when I haven't had much interesting to say blog-wise. I'm grateful. I'm drilling into anything I want to sew on, that doesn't have holes, especially round things that are hard to keep in place. Things like plastic, cooldrink can metal, wood of course. Stabilising has been a BIG problem - why didn't I think of Prestik? :) Thanks for the website tip!
